"What Central Texas needs, Central Texas will get in Salado," according to John Davis, general manager of Roy T's Old Salado Bakery now open in Salado's historic district. "We took an old Austin stone farm house and, while preserving its charm, created a new environment in keeping with the friendly Texas feel. We will strive for the best, and our customers will enjoy getting treats to go or dining on our new patio located just off I-35 with plenty of parking and easy-off, easy-on highway access."
Owner Roy T says, "We will serve Southern Maid doughnuts hot and fresh every morning–seven days a week. Our Baker will turn out mouth-watering cookies, pies, and cakes as well as southern-style daily lunch specials. To perfectly compliment the eclectic menu of sweet treats, Roy T's will serve delicious hot or cold coffee beverages made with coffee imported directly from Italy. What people enjoy about the great coffee shops of Amsterdam, Milan, Paris, or New Orleans they will now find in Salado."
People will want to drive to Salado for coffee and beignets before, during, or after great shopping on Main Street just a quick walk away from Roy T's lovely patio. If they are on-the-go, they can take a short break and within minutes pick up goodies before driving on to Dallas or San Antonio. If friends or families are meeting in Salado, they can call and pick up specialty pies and cakes to sweeten most any occasion.
